Grand National!
So the big news today is...we're in the final five for Best Dressed at The Grand National! We can't believe it! We must say that we were very lucky in that our client, Sam, who is wearing the outfit is a great (and very lovely looking!) girl, with a fantastic sense of style. She told us what she wanted, and we obliged...and obviously wears it very well by being picked out of 1700 entries!
We have EVERYTHING crossed, because no one deserves to win more than her...it would be great to see a more edgy look win this year!
We'll keep you updated!!!

New Organza Petticoats!
Tuesday 30 March 2010
Tiring Tuesday...
So today was very tiring, so this is gonna be a short one. Both Andrea and I have loads of orders at the moment, but we both have to squeeze in time to make new pieces for our collections, so we worked late today! I made a cute leopard halter neck top (pics to follow!) and andrea has been working on the most gorgeous whole-colour organza petticoats! I shall post some pictures as soon! Goodnight all! Gill x

New Blog!
Well here we are! I have meant to do a blog before, but at midnight last night I thought I might as well set one up! It makes sense, as when I'm not on the sewing machine/tied to the pliers/fixing websites I am a total 'Blog Addict'!
Just to let you know a little info about me...my name is Gillian Davis and I run an online business, with 2 websites, http://www.roseandanchor.co.uk/ and http://www.sweetlittletrinkets.co.uk/.
Basically one website houses my collection of 1940's/50's/60's inspired clothing and accessories, and the other contains all my kitschy jewellery.
My friend and studio-mate Andrea Sef makes petticoats (http://www.petticoatsaplenty.com/) but you'll hear more from her later! Her petticoats are really popular, and they go perfectly with my full skirted swing dresses!
We have a lovely studio/workspace in Liverpool...see pictures! I'll be honest, this is just one corner of our work area...it is basically a massive room with lots of industrial sewing machines and rolls of fabric, but this is the interesting (and tidy!) bit!
Anyway, that's it for now, but I'll be back!
Gill x
